Jesus was a life-giver. “I came that they may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

He fed the hungry, cured people who were sick, taught the crowds, forgave sins, shared his peace, overcame death to give new life, and invited everyone to follow him.

Like Jesus, you are a life-giver. You show it by your prayers and generosity. You give life to family members, relatives, neighbors, friends, and acquaintances. You are a life-giver for our Franciscan missionaries through your prayers and support.

You do so much good and share the love of Jesus as a mission partner with Franciscan missionaries. Together with our missionaries, you give food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, shelter to the homeless, comfort to the sick and dying. You help Franciscans minister to the spiritual needs of people by celebrating Mass, administering the sacraments, and giving religious instruction.

You can plan ahead and continue to assist Franciscans and their missionary work to give life to the poor for years to come. Each of us has the opportunity to make the very personal decision about what is to be done with the earthly goods God has entrusted to us during our life.

When you are preparing or reviewing your will or estate plan, please consider making a life-giving gift to Franciscan Missions. Your legacy gift would be a memorial to your love for the Church and to your understanding of the urgent needs Franciscan missionaries face each day.

You can be sure that, through your bequest, you will help and sustain Franciscan missionaries in their ministries that are so vital to thousands of people in some of the poorest and most remote places on earth.

As you prepare or review your will or estate plan, you can discuss with your attorney or financial advisor the options available to you. Some possibilities include naming the General Secretariat of the Franciscan Missions, Inc. in a will or living trust, or as designated beneficiary of bank accounts, retirement funds, annuities, or life insurance policies. We also accept gifts of stocks or bonds.

If you would like to discuss your estate planning with us, please call our Franciscan Missions office at (262) 534-5470 and talk with Ms. Carolyn Schmit.

If you have remembered or decide to include Franciscan Missions in your estate plan, thank you! Kindly let us know. You can email us at info@franciscanmissions.org or call us. We would like to inscribe your name in the Legacy Book in our Franciscan Missions chapel and welcome you as a perpetual member of our Legacy of Hope. You will receive the spiritual benefits that flow from the prayers and Masses offered for you by Franciscan friars around the world.

Today, I would like to offer you our free booklet, Planning Your Bequests. This valuable resource shows how your thoughtful, well-planned bequests can help your loved ones and benefit the causes you care about, such as Franciscan Missions and the work of Franciscan missionaries. To request your free booklet, take a moment to fill out and return the enclosed reply slip to me.

Once again, will you consider making a life-giving legacy gift to Franciscan Missions? Your gift would change the lives of people for years to come. And you will have great peace of mind in knowing that you have made your wishes known and have made all the necessary arrangements for your wishes to be carried out.

Thank you for the gift of your friendship. You, your loved ones, and your intentions are remembered in the daily prayers of grateful Franciscan missionaries across the globe.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Bro. Andrew Brophy, OFM
