Franciscan Vocations

Franciscan Vocations

“Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am. Send Me!” – Isaiah 6:8

The Franciscan Order has 2,300+ young, energetic, joy-filled men who are ready to let go of everything and embrace the way of life proposed by Saint Francis of Assisi.

The road they have taken is a difficult one.

Becoming a Franciscan seminarian calls for sacrifice and dedication. Academic studies, pastoral training, and spiritual and personal growth require much of these men. They know how important it is for them to open themselves to the Holy Spirit and give themselves totally to God, so they can serve you, God’s people, as Christ would.

They cannot walk alone. Many come from developing countries in our world that do not have the resources to house, feed, and educate young men to be formed as Franciscan missionaries.

They need to be formed and educated to serve in difficult and dangerous locations around the world—a process that can take up to 10 years.

They need your help, your prayers, and your generosity if they are to achieve their goal.

Without major outside assistance to cover basic costs for the spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation of these young men, many of them may be turned away.

It costs $5,000 a year to educate a Franciscan seminarian abroad. This amount is significant, yet small in comparison to the United States, where it can cost up to $50,000! Many men are waiting to become seminarians, but lack the resources to do so.

Would you consider helping a grateful servant of God, who will give his entire life to serving the poor?
