As Christians, you and I believe in our unity with Christ, so we pray for one another. We celebrate Mass and ask our merciful God to purify the souls of the deceased and bring them to the eternal joys of heaven. We also beseech our God to grant our special needs and intentions. Mass is celebrated daily by Franciscan missionaries in our missions around the world. Through our unity with Christ, you can arrange to have Masses said by our missionary priests.

The Pandemic Toll

Today, life in the missions is especially challenging and difficult. Many lives have been lost and even more are suffering from the economic fall out of the pandemic. Our missionary friars must also deal with the effects of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. In some countries, the shutdowns are so severe that our friars are not allowed to venture outside their friaries. They cannot celebrate Masses in public or work in the local parishes. These friars have lost the ability to provide for themselves through their direct service and can only celebrate Masses in the friary. In other countries, our friars are working longer and harder than ever feeding the poor who have lost their ability to feed themselves during the shutdowns.

A Gift of Hope

Your prayers, generous donations, and Mass stipends of $10 or more help our friars sustain themselves. A gift of hope will feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and provide medical treatment to the sick, including some of the poorest children in the world!

If you would like to arrange to have Mass offered for the soul of a departed loved one or for your own personal intentions, please click on the ‘Please Donate’ link below and arrange for one of our missionary priests to celebrate Mass for your intention as soon as possible. Your friendship, generosity and prayers help us deliver hope to those who live in poverty around the world.

May God richly bless you and protect you and your family during this global pandemic!

Gratefully yours,

Brother Andrew Brophy, OFM
