Reclaim human dignity in developing countries
Every human being possesses infinite and inalienable dignity that must be respected and protected. But too often in countries around the world, in areas gripped by widespread poverty, indigenous peoples, minority groups, refugees, migrants, the elderly, and the sick face the poorest conditions—ones many of us cannot fathom. These people, our brothers and sisters, struggle the most to access basic essentials in order to live a life with dignity.
“We want to recognize the human dignity in every person, whatever his or her race, language or condition might be.”
– Pope Francis

How we help
Funds have supported medical clinics, care for the elderly, migrant support, interfaith dialogue, education of people groups to combat stigmas, and humanitarian aid to the world’s most vulnerable. All of this we do as we emulate our founder, St. Francis, who gave everything to serve the poor in the name of the Lord.
Will you be God’s hands, heart, and voice to those who feel forgotten?

Projects to reclaim human dignity
In a single year, funds supported dozens of projects that aimed to unify people groups and communities, combat stigmas, and spread the good news that God’s plan includes every one of us.
- In Brazil, Franciscan missionaries ran a 5-day gathering for youth and families of the indigenous missions to educate and increase awareness of social issues.
- In the Philippines, our brothers led an inter-religious dialogue celebration of the season of creation with our young Muslim and Christian leaders.
- In Istanbul, they ran a two-week course on interreligious and Ecumenical Dialogue.
- In Mexico, we provided shelter, food, and psycho-emotional care for migrants.
