The Franciscan Friars of the Province Saint Francis of Vietnam are celebrating a milestone in their mission to support the education and spiritual growth of poor ethnic students in Laos. Thanks to our incredible donors, we’ve purchased and are renovating a home to provide a safe and nurturing environment for learning and living for 20 students.

The friars wished to create a boarding home for a long time, but a lack of financing and the pandemic delayed their plans. Finally, a neighbor of their community house decided to sell an adjacent building, suitable for boarding students.

Improvements to the house are still underway through the 2024-2025 school year, including expanding the classroom and prayer room.

This space is more than just a building; it’s a beacon of hope, offering these young learners an education and a path to spiritual growth and potential religious vocations, which contributes to the growth of the local church—especially important in an area that is 90% Buddhist.

Thank you for helping us light up more lives in Laos, and building a brighter future for these deserving children.
