About Andrew Brophy

Brother Andrew Brophy, OFM, serves as the executive director of Franciscan Missions in Waterford, Wisconsin. The organization has been in existence for more than 50 years. Born Andrew Brophy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Br. Andy made his Solemn Profession in 1980. A member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Province, founded in Pulaski, Wisconsin, he joined the Franciscans (Order of Friars Minor) in 1972. Br. Andy oversees fundraising initiatives, which focus on generating awareness of and financial support for the Order’s mission work in developing countries on six continents. Through his service to the Order as an international General Visitator, Br. Andy has built a global network of friars and lay partners. His most recent work as a Provincial councilor, secretary and bursar, as well as his extensive experience in development and nonprofit management has prepared him well for this ministry.
