While we cannot fix every hardship people face in remote areas of the world, where many of our missionaries serve, we can combat hopelessness by bringing the light of Christ into the darkest situations.

Caring for people’s spiritual needs is at the heart of our work. Franciscan friars around the world do this through the daily celebration of Mass and by ministering to their communities through the sacraments of Eucharist, baptism, confession, confirmation, and anointing of the sick.

Additionally, our missionaries spend time with their people, observing and asking into their needs, and bringing people together for fellowship, prayer, and community building.

Through the prayers and generous support of people like you, we can reach even more people.

Recent community development work
Supporting and pastoring communities takes many forms, including traveling to locations, building chapels, creating multipurpose halls for gatherings, and installing solar panels to create electricity. In a single year, funds were used on over two dozen projects, including:

• Support for the Pastoral activities of the “Casa de Jóvenes San Felipe de Jesús”,  a space for meeting, prayer, and training for young people in Chile.  
• Child protection formation training program in Argentina.  
• Construction of small chapels in the remote villages at Nongjri Mission in India. 
• Purchase of a bike and tech supplies for the pastoral ministry of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Lamitan City, Philippines.
