Dear Friend,
In every age, God calls people to serve him.
And in every age, many courageous hearts respond.
More than eight hundred years ago, God called a young Francis of Assisi to rebuild the church. Eight centuries later, courageous young men are still saying “yes” and following God’s call.
On average, it costs just $4,000 to educate and form one young missionary friar for an entire year.
This covers his food, lodging, books, tuition, and spiritual formation as he prepares for a lifetime of missionary service.
But $4,000 remains beyond the reach of many Franciscan provinces around the world.
Can you help?

Brother Mikey Tutu is one young man who has chosen a life of missionary service.
Brother Mikey grew up in a large, loving Catholic family. But when he discerned God’s call to become a Franciscan friar, his father found it difficult to let him go. Seeking to comfort his father, Mikey shared these words with him:
“If I have a special place in your heart, let Christ also have a special place in your heart. All of us [your children] are a blessing to you from the Lord, and when He asks, we should return the blessing in gratitude.”
Those words gave his father peace, and with his blessing, Mikey left home to begin Franciscan formation.

As the oldest son in a humble family in India, Brother Kishore Joseph knew that before he could answer God’s call, he first had responsibilities at home.
Rather than entering Franciscan formation immediately, he completed his education and accepted a position in Dubai. Only after Kishore knew his family would be secure did he finally embrace the vocation God had quietly nurtured in his heart for many years.
Today, Brother Kishore is finishing his second year of Theology studies and preparing to dedicate the rest of his life to Christ as a Franciscan friar.
Will you prayerfully renew your support of Franciscan Missions today so that more young men can answer God’s call with confidence and hope?
2,000 young men are currently preparing for Franciscan ministry throughout our worldwide Franciscan family.
Whatever your gift, know that you will be helping another young man prepare to proclaim the Gospel, celebrate the Sacraments, accompany the poor, and become a living witness to our Franciscan way of life.

Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed 2026 a special Jubilee Year to commemorate the 800th Anniversary of St. Francis’ Transitus—our Franciscan term for Francis’ “passing” from this earthly life into the fullness of eternal life with Christ.
As we commemorate this important year, I can think of no more fitting way to honor St. Francis’ memory than by supporting the young men following in his footsteps.
Thank you for helping another generation of Franciscan friars bring Christ’s hope to our world. May God bless you with the same peace, joy, and steadfast faith that so beautifully marked the life of our beloved founder, Francis of Assisi.
Yours in Christ,
Brother Andrew Brophy, OFM
