Prevent Water-Borne Disease in Africa

“I thirst.”

These are among the final words Jesus spoke from the Cross. In a moment of very human pain, He experienced what so many around the world are facing today.

In the remote villages of West Africa, families are forced to rely on dirty runoff water that’s exposed to pollution, parasites, and disease. They have no other choice.

Help us give people living in extreme poverty the opportunity to grow stronger, healthier, and full of hope.

Your gift of $35, $50, $100, $250, or any amount God places in your heart will help bring one of life’s greatest blessings to families who desperately need it: clean, reliable water.

A Costly Borehole Project in Benin

In one village in Benin, a building project for a deep-water borehole, solar-powered pump, and elevated water storage system is underway. It will protect children from disease and offer an entire village a chance to build a healthier, more hopeful future.

Despite having very little, the people of the village have already sacrificed nearly $10,000 toward the project themselves.

But the full cost to complete the project is almost $60,000.

Would you prayerfully consider helping us raise the remaining funds needed to bring clean, life-giving water to this community?

Prevent Typhoid and Parasites in Togo

Not far away in neighboring Togo, the village of Wuivie Badjamodji needs help.

Families rely on unsafe water collected from stagnant ponds and runoff after heavy rains. Typhoid, severe diarrhea, parasites, and other water-borne illnesses are tragically common, and sometimes even fatal to children.

Together, the projects in Togo and Benin will provide clean, reliable water to THOUSANDS of people for years to come. Join us in supporting them.

Will You Help Our Friars?

Our Franciscan friars serving these remote villages often live under the same difficult conditions as the people they serve.

  • In Rwanda, our newly established Custodial House is seeking rainwater storage tanks to ensure a reliable supply of water for the friars and the many people they welcome and serve.
  • In neighboring Tanzania, our formation house is praying for a borehole that will provide clean water for more than 30 young postulants preparing to follow in the footsteps of Saint Francis.

Your generosity will not only bless the surrounding villages but also strengthen the humble Franciscan communities who have dedicated their lives to serving Christ among the poor.

Please prayerfully consider renewing your generous support of Franciscan Missions today.

Renew Your Support

Jesus continues to call each of us to see His face in the poor and to respond with love, generosity, and compassion. Thank you for answering His call with a generous and faithful heart. You help us bring Christ’s love and hope to those who need it most.

Please know that you remain in my daily prayers and in the Masses of Franciscan missionary friars around the world.

May God bless you abundantly for the hope you bring to others.
