An estimated 3.8 million children in Angola are currently out of school.
This African nation endured a devastating 27-year civil war that left deep scars on its people, infrastructure, and education system. Now, growing up without access to education, Angolan children have limited opportunities. They have a desire to learn, but there is no classroom seat waiting for them.
We need your support to build the Frei Plínio Gande School in Quibala, Angola.
- Your gift of $25 will help provide essential school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, and pens so students can arrive ready to learn.
- A gift of $50 will help purchase a sturdy desk, giving a child a proper place to sit, write, and focus in the classroom.
- $100 will help provide classroom furnishings, including storage cabinets, chalkboards, and other essential learning materials.
- Your gift of $250 will help purchase costly construction materials required to prepare a safe, functional learning space for the students.

Continuing a History of Franciscan Service
Franciscan missionary friars first arrived in Angola in 1990, building a community in the rural municipality of Quibala. Home to roughly 174,000 people, Quibala has only three schools, leaving thousands of children shut out of the education system.
Without access to education, an entire generation of Angolans risks being lost.
Plans for the school include 15 classrooms serving more than 1,000 students in grades 7 through 9. For children who have been turned away from school, year after year, the school will be a place to learn, to grow, and to dream of a better future.
The friars have already begun the work, laying foundations with their own limited resources. But progress is slow.
Construction materials, labor, furnishings, water access, and sanitation must all come together before the doors can open to waiting students.
You and I have been blessed to walk through doors of opportunity. Today, you can open those doors to others.
Please help us make this ambitious construction project possible.

The Impact of Your Gift
Your support of Franciscan missionaries is the key to unlocking a better future for the next generation of Angolan youth. Without education, what hope do these children have of overcoming life’s obstacles?
Education restores dignity, strengthens families, and allows young people to imagine a future beyond survival. Please prayerfully consider making a generous gift today to help open the doors of the Frei Plínio Gande School and bring education, dignity, and hope to the children of Quibala.
Thank you for standing with the friars and with these young people whose lives will be forever changed because you care.
With deep gratitude and prayers,
